Viver Cleantech
Viver Cleantech is a newly established company, founded in July 2022, with a core focus on developing technologies to mitigate the impact of contaminated gases and greenhouse effects originating from human industrial activities. Its functions as an innovation hub for projects aligned with specific operational frameworks, employing two primary strategic approaches:
- Researching emerging technologies (TRL 3-4) originating from research institutions or scientific spin-off ventures. This aims to refine the scaling concepts, application integration into industrial processes, and market adoption (TRL 7-9). The primary objective here is to conceptualize products based on nascent technologies.
- Identifying new products within the target market at the final development stages (TRL 8-9) to facilitate their industrialization processes through technological licensing agreements. Leveraging industrial and automotive insights such as robust design and manufacturing efficiency, the goal is to ensure a reliable industrialization process with optimized manufacturing costs. The ultimate aim is to commercialize well-defined products.
Upon achieving the objective of reaching the final TRL stages (8-9), Viver Cleantech launch and collaborates a new entity dedicated to commercializing and manufacturing the devices, potentially involving external partners on the growing process.
The company in 2024 is composed of few, but high skilled technical profiles and outsourced the rest of company services (administrative and finances).
At the conclusion of 2022, the company established Methanol Reformer S.L, holding an exclusive license for a novel methanol reformer designed to produce high-purity hydrogen suitable for PEM Fuel Cells. This reformer, originating from the United States, is safeguarded by patent rights, benefiting Methanol Reformer S.L exclusively in the European, NAFTA, and Australian markets.
Viver Cleantech contribution within H2SHIFT project
Viver Cleantech is a user partner into H2SHIFT consortium. Viver Cleantech want to validate the new generation of compact methanol reformer adding a new purification hydrogen system.
Viver Cleantech will create a demonstration unit, capable to produce syngas from bio-alcohols, to validate that this syngas can be further purified in a competitive manner. The technology of Viver Cleantech will be tested at Tecnicas Reunidas facilities in Madrid, integrating Viver Cleantech reformer with syngas upgrade and purification unit, to obtain pure hydrogen (mobility grade or equivalent).
With this test, Viver Cleantech will demonstrate that their reformer can produce hydrogen suitable for mobility applications, also perform tests to find the optimal integration between units and best operating conditions of the complete system (reformer + purification unit).
Activities that will be performed within this Test-Line are reformer design and optimization, construction and assembly of the compact reformer linked to new purification system.
Main objective is concluded with the validation for a demonstrator unit, tested under state of art Test-Line.
