The winners of the first H2SHIFT Open Call

First wave of H2SHIFT cascading calls system was launched last December 2025. Open up to March 2026, it was finally concluded this summer with the selection of two innovative companies ready to start the collaboration within our ecosystem.

This first Open Call was opened to select beneficiaries for four hydrogen production development platforms searching showcases for their testing services: software for modelling hydrogen production in an offshore environment, multiphysics simulation platform to support design and scale-up of hydrogen production technologies and direct hydrogen production from solar. The procedure evaluation was based on technical and business-related aspects, such as climate transition purposes of technologies and techno-economic feasibility, as well as company team, IP asset as general company profile criteria.  After preliminary application screening and shortlist, direct interviews allowed to identify Dynelectro and Vision2H companies as the beneficiaries for Test Lines #7 and #8 services.

Based in Denmark, Dynelectro is in the clean tech sector, specializing in Solid Oxide Electrolyser Cell (SOEC) technology. Their proprietary AC:DC operation mode tackles one of the industry’s biggest hurdles: it effectively eliminates stack degradation, extending stack lifetime by up to a factor of 5 compared to conventional setups. With a highly mature technology and a 250kW plant already operational in Iceland, Dynelectro is incredibly close to market entry.

In the framework of Test Line #8, Resolvent will support them in the transition pathway from their current design to a commercial scalable architecture. Thanks to the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation service, in fact, Dynelectro aim to achieve the 20-30% of cost reduction for their project. The modelling will allow to operate on the optmisation of the dual-layer insulation architecture for high-temperature zones, conducting advanced CFD analysis on temperature and gas flow uniformity. Overall, the hotbox design will be also simplified to reduce the large-scale manufacturing complexity.

Vision2H is developing advanced Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolyser systems for cost-effective and scalable green hydrogen production. The company is currently developing its technology from a 10kW prototype towards a 100kW prototype and, ultimately, industrial-scale solutions. Its approach combines simplified system design, reduced use of critical materials and improved scalability, with the ambition of making green hydrogen production more sustainable and affordable.

Through Test Line #7, Vision2H will have the opportunity to further validate its technology and accelerate its transition from prototype development towards an industrial product.
The collaboration with Youwind will provide the framework to test and demonstrate the technology in the context of hydrogen production tied to a hybrid system together with an offshore wind farm, supporting the validation of key aspects such as performance, durability and scalability.

Overall, the initial testing is meeting the technological needs for improvement of the winner companies so far.  A successful activities progress, highlighting how the whole H2SHIFT ecosystem is able to support technological upscaling of innovative SMEs and start-ups, sharing knowledge and cutting-edge infrastructures.
